1979
-OTID officially charted by President Steven Muller and placed under the supervision of Provost Dr. Richard Longaker

1980
-Birth of summer residential program: site opens at St. Mary's College, St. Mary's City, Maryland

1982
-New OTID sites are upended at Dickinson College, Carlilse, PA and Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, PA

1983
-OTID named CTY
-CTY's West Coast Office is opened

1984
-CTY has year-round programs in 8 locations
-EWT, The Expository Writing Tutorial-by-Mail is initiated

1985
-Young Students classes begin at The Johns Hopkins University

1986
-New summer site opened at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY

1989
-CTY opens site at College de Leman, Geneva, Switzerland (site is no longer active)

1990
-New site opens at Wheaton College, Norton, MA (site is no longer active)

199?
-Amherst, NY site opened (site is no longer active)
-New site opens at Hamilton College, in Clinton, NY (site is no longer active)
-New site opens at Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles
-CTY-Ireland starts
-CAA is started

1997
-CTY Changes name to IAAY

2000
-IAAY changes name back to CTY

2001
-Hamilton Site moves to Union College in Schenectady, NY
-After many years, the St. Mary's College site is re-opened.

2002
Union College site moves to Siena College in Loundonville, NY
